Bronxites and New Yorkers in general must see this new movie of the TUSKEEGEE AIRMEN. Not only is this the history of African American men, those real men, but it is a story of your neighbors. For years I have known Roscoe Lee Brown from David Dinkins campaign, helping my son take a year at BX CC and that was a solid he gave me. Then at a celebrity filled fund raiser he was introduced as a Tuskeegee Airmen. It floored me. A couple years later I was in Canada and met a woman who was a Tuskeegee Airmen and her story was exceptional since she recently became a member (30 yrs prior). She lives in Queens with the title of only Black Female Single Propeller Pilot or something to that effect. Our neighbors. Making history, kicking ass and taking no names.
Roscoe is a wonderful person to know. I hope that each of us support the movie. I love seeing our history on the big screen and to know a couple of those same men because I have interacted with them is a double pleasure. Thanks Akia for sending out the clarion call to our community. Their motto of "WE FIGHT" has to be our calling card as we begin our fight not to return to Jim Crow laws and middle class annihilation.
WE FIGHT!
Alone, we can do so little, together, we can do so much.
